CAMP Hope is a youth missions opportunity in which teams of senior high youth (aged 14 - 18) work with adult leaders from their church for one week to serve a homeowner with a home improvement need they are physically or financially unable to complete on their own. Our mission is to empower youth to gain technical skills, build relationships with homeowners, strengthen relationships with their fellow youth and adult leaders, and begin to develop a lifelong passion for service in mission.
Brief Overview
CAMP HOPE is an ecumenical mission trip geared toward high school students. Our goal is to provide an environment where today's youth can celebrate the joy of Christian Fellowship while helping others in need. CAMP HOPE is in session for four weeks each summer, with each group attending for one week. Our week begins on Sunday afternoon and ends on Saturday morning. Throughout the week we have daily worship services, including prayer, songs, music, and scripture, home improvement and repair, recreational activities, and fellowship. Everyone stays in the dorms at Frostburg State University. Breakfasts and dinners are provided for each camper; the entire camp shares these meals together in local churches.
While on the work sites, work teams consist of 5-8 people. Each work team must have 2 adults. To serve as a work camper, youth must be between the ages of 14-18. Persons must be 24 years of age or older to be considered as an adult. Persons ages 19-23 are considered a young adult.
